Generation for Change and Growth Organization to implement virtualization technology to all computer labs. With a grant from VMware company a world leader in virtualization technology, we are happy to annouce that we will upgrade all our existing desktops to desktop virtualization.
The end users will instead use thin clients to connect to our network and will get a virtual view of the desktop image similar to their current one.We are very excited to make this important project a dream come true. This project when completed by December 2011 will decrease our current Operating expense by 60 % and will save the organization from the verge of closing its doors to the poor communities we serve in Kenya.

GCG's current operating expenditure in 2011 is hovering around $118,000 while our expected revenue for next year is estimated only $55,000 at best.That is why this project is do or die for the organization. 

We highly believe this project will be successfull unlike the 2008 project with Alpha Smart for Africa. That project did not go well, because the end users did not like it and it did not really solved their main technolgy needs to close the digital divide in that part of the world. It is reaaly going to be beneficial for both the organization and the community we serve.

The idea to go to desktop virtualization really came from a graduate student from Saint Mar's University of Minnesota and it was kind of exactly the solution to our problem.
